"Aren't you excited?" she asks excitedly.

"Not really."
"Come on, we're leaving in 5 days. I can hardly wait. I'm so excited."

Her husband has decided to join us, so she will be surrounded by her whole family.

I'm leaving a son behind.
And it's weighing me down.

I have never gone on a holiday and left a child at home. My trips have always coincided with their annual vacations with their dad.
But not this time.

This time he was not allowed to take time off work.

So my heart is torn.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. A restful weekend, full of quiet moments and special memories.
2. That my kids and their cousins are friends.
3. Wireless keyboards and mouses.

Shalom,

It's the beginning of when they start to leave us for their own life. It's a tearing, I know, but he's growing up, know how you feel.
