Rachel and I were both away on (separate) holidays last weekend. They were vastly different. She sat in a treehouse in Thailand by herself.

I shared a motorhome with 11 teens. And living space with 78 people. While watching concerts with 15,000 frenzied fans. It was awesome.

Highlights, in no particular order:
1. I backed the motorhome up. Twice. Never done that before. In previous years I only moved in the forward direction. When I stopped moving, I was parked. All this experience in operating large vehicles is preparing me well for a future with the trucking industry.

2. The Audio Adrenaline show. Sniff. It was their goodbye concert... the lead singer is retiring his voice. The rest of his body will have to follow suit. There was a touching moment at the end when the guitar player shared a few thoughts and tears. One of my guys got a lil choked up too. "Big big house, with lots and lots of rooms..."

3. All the "God" moments, from the tiny (getting perfect parking spots every single time we went to the river), to the medium (having the boys in the Durango arrive at the staging field half an hour (and hundreds of cars) after us, and yet end up with them RIGHT BEHIND ME in the line-up) to the significant (the way, 24 hours before we left BC, the finances worked out so that I had 2 drivers with the right credentials to drive the Durango).

4. The way that three mornings in a row I ended up being the first person to use a freshly sanitized porta potty. This is a HUGE benefit to not having to get up at 5 a.m. to pee. The cleaning crew (Thank you God that you did not call me to that line of work..) starts sucking up the waste and hosing out the interiors at 9:00 am, perfect for a gal like me.

5. All the singing and dancing and laughing and crying and talking and tanning and praying and sharing and getting closer to friends... The Chris Tomlin concert was UNbelievable. My next husband will have to be a worship song writer/performer. Goosebumps. The David Crowder Band's set was just plain fun. Oh My Goodness. I would drive a couple hours in any direction to see them again - what an energetic, crowd-pleasing show. We sang everything; from honky tonk to hymns. And, of course - The Newsboys. Is there anything better than the Breakfast Song at midnight on a warm summer Saturday evening with all your friends? Yes. yes there is. Try having the drummer perform on a spinning, revolving stage. Yes, my friend - THAT'S entertainment.

6. Watching my kids (all 11 of them) and being so proud I coulda burst. I am a blessed woman.

Shalom,

You are so right about everything! The concerts, the speakers, watching your kid worship their God because He is real to them, the laughter with friends, etc. Sure wish I could have spent some more time with you but it seemed my time was not my own.
The other thing that always amazed me was the scenery. As a backdrop with the sun setting or just plain shining it was stunning!!
