So Drew and I were doing some grocery shopping -

and it was late, about 11:30 pm.
We were at Safeway.
The checker was a young female.
Drew was loading the bagged groceries into our buggy.
"There's a switch at the end that you can press; it will move the belt for you," the young female said to Drew.
He looked embarassed. "It's OK. I'm fine," he said as he reached across the end of the counter for another bag.
"Try it," I suggested. "It'll be fun. And easier to get the bags..."
He gave me that 'don't talk to me' look, so I went back to sorting through all my cards, looking for my Visa.
When I realized I had left it in my denim shorts back pocket, I glanced at Drew.
He was smiling.
"I like this switch."
"I knew you would."
"Feeling of power to control the conveyor belt..."
"I know."

Two hundred and fifty dollars later we push our buggy out to the parking lot.
"Wouldn't it be cool if we could have a conveyor belt in our house? With switches? How awesome would that be? From the garage to the kitchen so we wouldn't have to carry all these groceries in. I can't believe she let me use the switch. I think I want to marry her."

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. He's only 12; hopefully he'll outgrow spontaneous marriage proposals by the time he's 20.
2. That Lynne dropped by to help me with all my embossing tonight. So glad we had time to have a good talk.
3. That God causes all things to work together for good.

Shalom,
