Like, reading.
Or blogging.
Or sleeping.
Or watching the second season of Lost on DVD.
Or putting all the plastic bags into that fabric sleeve so they're not all over the pantry floor directly under the fabric sleeve.
Max is receiving a quality education this year at our local public high school. Two spares (cuz there's nothing they can put him into during those blocks), Social Studies and Portfolio (which is another spare - they only check in with their teacher on Fridays.)
So I've enrolled him in Distance Ed, which is free to students enrolled in their local school. It's an online learning institution. Last night he needed to pick up his course materials ($177) and sit in on a tutorial on how to install the program onto his computer. The classroom was in ROSEDALE; almost ONE HOUR away from my kitchen table.
Fall has hit me with a sledge hammer. There was no soft and gentle transition from sitting on the deck at the lake to filling out 36 assorted forms and newsletters, figuring out the difference between a concrete noun and an abstract noun, and getting a stomach ache from having to say, "Are you UP YET?" sixteen times every morning.
Oy.
Listen to me whine.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Got about 5 inches and 10 pounds of hair cut off today. It's all layered and stuff. You can't tell though. I've got it back in a pony tail.
2. Covered hair elastics.
3. I had the courage to throw out 48 pounds of paper. My file cabinet has an empty drawer. What got the heave ho? All my notes, assignments and papers from Bible School. All my tax returns from '89 to '98. Actually everything from '89 to '98 ... Purging is good.
Shalom,

You have been a huge inspiration to me. We walk a very similar path. A path I do hope crosses one day.

Hi Donna -
Thanks for the kind words. And I have no doubt our paths will cross someday - I'm looking forward to it.
