Back in November, I didn't know how easy it was to scan photos

...so I'll congratulate John and Val now on their 25th Wedding Anniversary with a walk down Memory Lane -

Val at the farm. Me being creative with my Canon AE-1 Single Lens Reflex camera... framing her inbetween the posts like that? Golden.

John frolicking on the lawn.
These were the '70's and the livin was easy.
In June 1981, Val, Denise and I went to Palm Springs by ourselves. First real holiday as young women without our parents or siblings along. I had just turned 20, Denise was 19, Val was 18. None of us were old enough to rent a car, so we took a cab to our hotel and only went places we could walk to. On our last day we did a photo shoot, changing our clothes every few minutes. We coordinated our "looks" and took alot of individual as well as group shots. We all had rainbow tops, mine was a tank, and Denise's was a t. Remember, this was a few decades ago when rainbows meant 'no more floods' not "I am gay".

Minutes after we got back to Vancouver, John gave Val an engagement ring. I got a promise ring. Denise got nothing.
A few days after our return, I was a bridesmaid for my friend, Sherry. And again, at the end of the summer, I was a candle-lighting bridesmaid for Vern.

Then, in November, I was a bridesmaid for Val... (You thought this photo journey was about Val, didn't you? Oh no. It's all about me. Me. Me. "I was a bridesmaid... I wore a tee shirt...")

Happy belated Anniversary, John and Val.
Love you guys -
