Lite Posts

Have you noticed how sparce my posts have been recently? No sugar. No fat.
Boring.

It's not because my life is dull. Oh no. That is not why.
It's because my kids are keeping me in a perpetual state of angst. Never-ending. Daily. One thing after another.

And I'd love to share with you all that is going on. Because sometimes, when I type things out, they seem less tragic and maybe even a little bit humorous. But here's the thing. When your kids are little you can blog about the sleepless nights, the green poop, the time out corner, the after-school detention ... and then all of a sudden you can't. You can't blog about being their mom. They can read your blog for themselves. And so can their friends.

And they don't want to read about their dumb ass moves on their mom's blog.

And the bonehead moves? ALOT of them lately. I can barely cope.

So there you have it. If you are reading this and have sons between the ages of 13 and 20, I know what you're going through.

And you know what I'm dealing with. (I was at a wedding this evening and visited with someone I hadn't seen in 5 years. She has three sons as well; hers are 21, 19, and 17. She said to me, "Even though we haven't kept in touch, I'm assuming your life is alot like mine these days ...")

I never did submit an article regarding single parenting. (The deadline was yesterday.) The daily crisises around here have kept me hopping. And I could never get into the frame of mind where I was be able to write anything positive about my single parenting experience. Everytime I tried, I never got past the "Single Parenting is a lonely endeavor. And exhausting." And again, I couldn't go into any details, because, well, my kids can read. And so can their friends. So the Herald will have to go to print without my contributions.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. My mom and dad were able to come to the wedding for a few hours.
2. The snow didn't last very long.
3. I wrapped 4 presents. Thank goodness I still have 48 hours to get all the last minute things done.

Shalom,

I tried to quit once, parenting that is, but I was told I couldn't. No one else wanted them and they arrest you for killing your own kind. I now know what happened to the brain cells my parents used to have - we were teenagers once. They not only eat you out of house and home, they destroy any remaining intellectual brain cell material. Many days I find myself doing little more than sitting in a corner staring at my toes. Oh, drooling sometimes. That's when I'm not crying and pulling my hair out. I've seriously considered taking up smoking again, but the cost keeps getting in the way.
One day they'll have teenagers, too. It keeps me going.

Ahoy hoy. Merry Boxing Day! Sorry your kids are...kids. One day they'll be grown-ups, but then you'll be old. It's lose-lose.
In other news, somethings up with my email. Are we (the ladies) hanging out?
Miss you!
