It's 4:15 am here

... and Sandra and I have finally stopped talking. We had NO idea of the time. THIS is what holidays with girlfriends is all about.

It was cloudy today, with a few sunny breaks. We spent the day sitting here on their terrace beside the pool. Not for one minute did I think I should pray for sunny weather... after all, this is Mexico. And Rose says it never rains here.

Sandra and I checked the weather forecast for the rest of the week.
"Oh look!" she says in her excited glass-half-full voice, "No rain expected this week Just clouds every day."
"But look," I say in my Eeyore voice, "there are no smiling sunshine faces expected this week."

For those of you who have been keeping track of my annual escapes to sunshine, you may remember that we had snow and unseasonably cold weather 2 years ago in Palm Springs.
And last year, we had snow, rain, thunderstorms and 2 days of sunshine in Arizona.

In 12 years, Rose has never had a day as cold as today was. And could not believe the forecast of 5 days of overcast skies. "This NEVER happens. Ever."

(Global warming has not been very kind to me.)

I'm trying to be OK with this. But really? I'm here for some sun. I need some days of extended sunshine. I'm going to have to buy a tanning package when I get home.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Long, satisfying conversations.
2. Big houses with 11 foot high ceilings, marble floors, huge columns and ginormous bathroom vanities. I feel tiny, and feminine, and princess-like.
3. Tomorrow we're going to the beach. Yay. Something new to photograph...

Shalom,
