Larry Norman died?

Yesterday afternoon he knew he was going to go home to God very soon and he dictated the following message while his friend Allen Fleming typed these words into Larry's computer:

I feel like a prize in a box of cracker jacks with God's hand reaching down to pick me up. I have been under medical care for months. My wounds are getting bigger. I have trouble breathing. I am ready to fly home.
My brother Charles is right, I won't be here much longer. I can't do anything about it. My heart is too weak. I want to say goodbye to everyone. In the past you have generously supported me with prayer and finance and we will probably still need financial help.
My plan is to be buried in a simple pine box with some flowers inside. But still it will be costly because of funeral arrangement, transportation to the gravesite, entombment, coordination, legal papers etc. However money is not really what I need, I want to say I love you.
I'd like to push back the darkness with my bravest effort. There will be a funeral posted here on the website, in case some of you want to attend. We are not sure of the date when I will die. Goodbye, farewell, we will meet again.
Goodbye, farewell, we'll meet again
Somewhere beyond the sky.
I pray that you will stay with God
Goodbye, my friends, goodbye.
Larry

Wow.
That was sad.

I'm pretty sure I saw him in concert in the mid 70's? Val? Did we?
Well, even if we didn't, his music was a pretty big part of my life for a year or two.
Seems like he had a lonely life in the end.

New topic.
Didja watch the Academy Awards last night?
I did.
Wish Johnny Depp would change his look a little. Too bad he can't be a pirate in real life.
And Colin Farrel? Despite my love for long hair on guys, his needs a bit of attention. And maybe some shampoo?
Just like last year, I desire to be like Helen Mirren when I get all growed up. She is a class act. With a flat stomach and a beautiful chest.
The rain wasn't anyone's friend was it? Limp hair on a number of starlets. Tragic.

I'm on a steep learning curve.
It's going to be my job to format Arrow's newsletters and to do so I need to know how to use Adobe InDesign. I had a 2 hour one-on-one lesson today and my head feels like it's going to explode. I have one more lesson and then I'm on my own.

It's like I'm learning a brand new language that I need to be fluent in, in one week, because I'm supposed to communicate to 2000 people with it.

Yeah. The timing on this new project kinda sucks. Too many things clamouring for my brain space these days.

Oh? You're wondering about my dad?
He's going to see a neurologist. Is that how it's spelled?
Something is messing with his head, that much has been determined. Time for the experts to give it a shot.

Speaking of my dad, do any of you know of someone who might be interested in living in a private above-the-garage suite for free in exchange for being available to help out around the place?
This isn't a nursing position, but rather a position for someone who wouldn't mind hanging out with my ol man one or two afternoons a week and one or two evenings a week. Hanging out would mean:
- Watching "Against All Odds" at least once a day.
-Playing a game of pool once a week.
-Taking him to the gym once a week so he can use the weights.
-Helping my mom with moving furniture now and then.
-Driving my dad up to the lake in his pick up truck and listen to country and western music.
- And so on.

Pass this along to anyone in your contact list that might be suitable. It might work for someone who has a part time job. Or is a student. The main thing is, the person we are praying for, would have to be mature and personable. Outgoing and friendly. Talkative and caring.

If you don't know of anyone, could you pray that God would bring us a perfect helper?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You know all those pics I posted yesterday? The ones at the end where my sis and bro-in-law are laughing?
Know what we were talking about?
The online dating service they had checked out for me.
Farmers only dot com.
I don't think so.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And time's up.
I have some more homework to do.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. A great walk tonight. Both the walking and the talking part. Love that.
2. The Office will be back on April 10.
3. No one is going to care if I snore tonight.

Shalom,

Almost forgot. Here are a few more things your kids should see and do:

571. They need to talk and joke with kids who are not cool.
575. They need to pray daily to exhibit the fruits of the Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
577. They need to memorize scripture.
578. They need to tell a friend they'll pray for them.
579. They need to ask their friends to pray for them. And be honest about why.
669. They need to be able to amuse themselves on an airplane. Or learn to sleep on one.
675, They need to be able to find the plot point. In a book. And life.

G'nite

We went to a couple of his concerts. At each one he would stop singing and ask the sound man to turn him up. Those were the days - sitting in the Agradome with everyone that you had just gone rollerskating with the Monday before or seen at Pie Factory. The days of no decisions!
