And, for those who are wondering ...

My mom is getting better. She was able to visit dad this weekend.
Drew had an overnighter at her place on Saturday night, so that was good. Felt a little bit like 'the olden days'.

And my dad?
Well.
He was not too talkative this evening, but he was more lucid than he's been in months. He understood everything his doctor (now back from holidays) said (and didn't say) regarding the upcoming week.
"I'm going into a home," dad said to me when he woke up from a nap. "It's probably for the best. I need alot of care, and all this stuff... (Oxygen and Nebulizer). And with mom going in for her operation, it's best that I stay at a nursing home. They can look after me. And now, with these diapers and all... Boy, you kids sure have two oula's to take care of, don't you?"
"We love taking care of you dad, don't even think about it."
"Yeah, but with me and mom both being in the hospital, and you kids always visiting - it can't be easy."
"It's not a big deal. We're glad we can help."

I sat with him well past visiting hours tonight. But he didn't want to talk anymore. Which was sad, because tonight? He was my dad again.
