Sometimes I Just Don't Know What To Blog About

And this is one of those times.

Should I write about today's to do list and how I crossed off 7 things this evening. (Mail wedding card, congrats on new house card, send 5 thank you cards, contact Curves, buy tickets for Cirque du Soleil, load dishwasher, finish laundry, water and fertilize planters...)

Or would a better post be one about a mother's life in June? You know, when one child is on the verge of graduating but has run out of steam. And how the other son decides to do 3 months worth of homework in one evening, hands in just enough to pass his courses (YAY! 53% average) and thinks he's got the system beat.

Maybe I should write about the Leadership Seminar I've been planning? It is going to be utterly fantastic... I'm pretty excited about this event. Hey! Why don't you come?

Or should I pass along these tips I picked up this weekend:
1. If you floss your teeth you will live longer. Why? The bacteria that settles between your teeth is just that: BACTERIA. And if you don't floss it out, your heart is eventually going to have to deal with it. So, be a pal, give your heart a hand. Floss.

2. Peonies need ants crawling all over them. Why? The buds are wrapped up tight in a green, sugary skin. The ants remove the tasty green outer shell so that the flowers within can bloom.

By the way, my heels are so rough (how rough are they, Jane?), they're so rough, they've worn out my bed sheets. WORN them out, as in they're shredded in the exact spot my heels sleep.

Should I tell you how much of a morning person I am not? A couple times a week I was my hair in the kitchen sink (I don't have a laundry room, and the bathroom sinks are too small. Remember? I have a big, fat german head.) On Saturday I used dishwashing detergent accidentally. This would not have happened if it wasn't the morning.

Along those same lines? I wore mismatched shoes to work twice last week. Oh, sure they are both black slip ons. But the left shoe was purchased in Arizona in 2001. The right shoe was purchased in Seattle in 2007. The insole is almost nonexistant in the left shoe. And the left shoe's heel is 1/2 inch lower than the right one. Not to mention, the left shoe has a rounded toe. The right shoe is more pointy.

No one noticed. Not even me.

I've been reading this blog with interest: He's calling it The 100 Thing Challenge...
"By my thirty-seventh birthday on November 12, 2008 I will have only 100 personal items. I will live for at least one year (God willing) maintaining an inventory of only 100 personal things. This challenge will help me "put stuff in its place" and also explore my belief that "stuff can be good when it serves a purpose greater than possession alone."

Could you live with (only)100 personal things?
I guess I'd need to know what the definition of "personal things" is. Clothes, make-up, furniture, books, cooking utensils, a vehicle?

I was thinking of challenging myself to give away 100 things this year. Decrease my inventory of personal things by 100...

Check out the cute cakes on this blog. The Mario one is especially good.

This article is interesting... I told Clint he could convert our greenhouse into an office if he wants.

And that's it. Can't think of anything else to say.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Kevin and Sharon had a healthy, perfect little boy. His name is Elliot.
2. Glorious sunshine.
3. Electric fans.

Shalom,

I am also quite a NOT morning person. I also apparently need to go back to school because that was possibly the worst sentence.

Here's my trick. Get yourself some good old Johnson's baby lotion (comes in great new scents that aren't baby-ish) and as often as necessary, slather it on so thick it almost falls off, stuff your feet carefully into socks and sleep. In the morning, wa-la, they smell good and they'll be soft.
Yep-eroni.
