Michele (from work) came over to my place tonight to whet our appetites and introduce us to the fabulous world of digital scrapbooking also known as graphic design. Which is what I'll be calling it. Because digi scrapping? Sounds so tacky-crafty, doesn't it? Like something you'd do with Alene's glue, 2" pom poms and wiggly eyes.
But this. This is slick. Professional. Artistic. Creative.
Just you wait and see. Oh my goodness... the things a person can do with photos. Pure awesomeness.
Of course it's a whole new language, new software, new way of managing one's photos ... isn't life one big learning curve sometimes?
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. At noon I had 12 people coming, so I changed plans as to which room we'd meet in, got Clint to help me figure out a way to best project the images from Michele's laptop, bought more fruit, warned Michele she'd need to print off extra notes... and then by 4 pm the phone calls and emails started happening. By 7 pm, I was embarassed, thinking that it would just be Michele and I...
So very thankful that it wasn't. An audience of 4 is better than an audience of one :)
2. Friends who stay til midnight to talk. To talk about deep things. To talk about eternal things. To talk about lovely things.
3. Fresh pineapple and watermelon. And a clean house. And candlelight. And friends. And sunny fall days. And sons who help. And computers that work. And people who want me to take pictures. And sons who call me at midnight because they're at their dad's house and their finger hurts and wonder if it's cancer.
Shalom,
