Pretending

Spring Break.
If I can't sit by a pool, I should at least have fun.
So on Wednesday, Shannon is staying here for a sleepover. She'll sleep in Drew's room: I'm getting it ready as best I can considering what I have to work with.
At least the floor will be swept and the bedding cleaned.
.
.
What a productive Monday. After I left work at 4, I drove over to the Mall where someone had turned in my Visa card. (I dropped it in the parking lot on Saturday afternoon). Then I returned a pair of pants, got a new charger for my cell phone, did some banking and pretended that I was going to have a spa-weekend for my face:

I bought enough product to erase 20 years off my face. You won't recognize me in a few days. No wrinkles. Supple lips. "Bright, even-toned cheeks." And, oil free. Miracles in tubes, I tell you.
.
.
If I was in, say, Palm Springs, like any normal person would be during Spring Break, I probably would spend an evening at Target. Pretending that I was enjoying the warmth of the setting set from a southern location, I went to Canadian Tire.
Look what I got: (Hint, see the little tins on the back of the stove.)

They are magnetic. They're STICKING there.

They have clear lids, so you can see what's inside. And there are two different shaker options:

And sprinkle:

Cool, eh? And the best part? Only $1.19 each.
.
Are your kids hard on your house, too?
I have SO many broken bits in my house.
Like this: (the lightswitch for their bathroom)
.

Which is surprising, because they rarely turn the light off.
I personally switch it off at least 20 times a day.
So, I got this:

and I'm going to get my handyman to install it on Thursday. See that? The longest time that light will ever be left on will be 15 minutes.
Yay for gadgets.
.
.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. This:

History is so interesting. I'm loving the dialogue between Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin and George Washington. And I'm absolutely dying watching the Adam's family get inoculated with the pox vaccination.
2. Restaurant gift cards. I used a few of them tonight, having dinner with Clint at Milestones. I'm so thankful for the hour we spent eating and talking.
3. I'm thankful for God. And how He's at work even when we don't realize it. And how He loves us. Even when we don't realize it.
.
Shalom,
