I am going to have a nervous breakdown.

Seriously.
Does the trim color work with the house color, or did I screw that up?
How about the front door. Should I really have gone with black? Too severe? Unwelcoming? Is the border colour too putrid? Am I going to regret all the decions I've made regarding this project?
What was I thinking? Can I really afford this?

I'd post some pics but honestly? I don't think I could handle the criticism right now.
Maybe when it's all done I'll let you see.

We went out for lunch today to celebrate Steve's birthday.
At one point we got around to talking about crying and it was true confession time - "When was the last time you cried?"
The guys each gave a funny then serious answer. For most of them it had been awhile.
All of us girls had cried at least once this week.(I teared up last night when I watched the last 3 minutes of the movie Cinderella Man with Russell Crowe. I'd never seen the movie before, had no idea what the story line was, but those last three minutes were emotion filled, so I cried right alongside Rene' Zwelwigger because she shouldn't have to cry alone.)Then the challenge came up - "Let's see who we can make cry first now during lunch."
I predicted there'd be no contest - I would win that one in seconds.
Brenda shared her crying moment; Carson, who is in Ireland, asked her to look through his journals to find a resource that he had made a note of a few years ago. So she went through the journal from that particular year and read his thoughts from day to day. And then there was one day that one had the date and these 4 words: "My dad died today" and the empty page was wrinkled with tear drippings.
She kinda teared up as she shared that story.
I was crying.
So I stood up and took a bow.
Yay me!
From laughing to tears in 22 seconds.

I wonder if there's something wrong with me?

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. I LOVE lunches at the Mongolie Grill.
2. SO MANY fun things planned for this weekend. Finally.
3. My mom bought my dad a suit for the upcoming weddings and cruise. (He has been pretty stubborn about wearing his jeans this year. His jeans and his belt. He asked for them about 100 times a day when he was in the hospital.) Anyway, mom went up to have a bath in the evening and when she came downstairs he was putting his suit on. He was getting ready for Sunday, he was going to wear it to bed.)I am thankful my mom can laugh at the sadness of it all.

Shalom,

Black doors are very, very elegant. Just think # 10 Downing Street. Elegant, Baby, elegant.
