I Love Crayons

For the past 10 nights it's been absolutely beautiful outside.
I've driven back and forth to Surrey with my windows open and my heart full of joy, anticipating the upcoming seasons.
My dad was discharged from the hospital this afternoon, (YAY! And, thanks for praying) so my bring-a-meal-and-a-smile services weren't needed.
I have the night off to do whatever I want. (YAY! Freedom to do whatever I want!)

It's raining.
So I'm sitting on the couch watching TV shows that I have no business watching. 24? I haven't watched any other episodes so I have no clue what's going on. Castle? What's this? Why am I sitting here?
I'm also websurfing.
I am not doing anything productive, social, spiritual, hygenic, or physical.
What a waste.
If I was my own teenaged child, I'd be disappointed in myself.

But I did find something fun.
If you're artsy, you may like this.
These pics are from that site:

And now?
Now I really want to do something with a box of new crayons.
Anybody want to come over and just color?
Wouldn't that be fun?
What's your fav color?
Mine is "blue green".

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Yay. Dad is OK. Well, he still has congestive heart failure. And dementia (or a brain injury, whatever) and Parkinsons. But he's stable. And very comfortable at home. I am SO thankful that my mom is willing, able and filled with enough love to care for my dad.
You know what? In the end? That's what every kid wants. For their parents to love each other. To love each other enough to hang in there during the not-so-happily-ever-after times. To love each other enough to forgive each other. To love each other enough to honor those vows made when you really have no clue what you're promising. To love each other enough that you keep trying...
Thanks, mom for loving him enough.
2. I'm thankful that after work I had an appointment to get a pedicure. TWO HOURS she spent on my feet. You have no idea. NO IDEA how awesome that was. I feel like a new woman. I AM a new woman.
3. Uh, yeah. Castle just ended. New crush. He's a writer, and he solves crimes and his teenaged daughter loves him. Swoon.

I used to get a new box of crayons every year for Christmas and I'm still a huge crayon fan. I can smell them just looking at those photos. Favorite color, periwinkle.
