It Starts Here

Tomorrow night is the first Take Back The City service at 7pm at Peace Portal.

These are the behind-the-scene guys who are working on the video-graphics-design stuff while listening to Paul Simon play with Julio down by the schoolyard:

They'll be at it all night.
They all have fulltime jobs to pay the bills, but this type of work? Feeds the soul. They love what they're doing. It brings them joy.

Watching your kid do something he loves (which not-coincidently is something he ROCKS at) surrounded by like-minded people who speak the same language and have the same common goal is pretty satisfying for a mom.

If you're between 15 and 28 (or like hanging out with 15 - 28 year olds in a non-creepy way), check out Peace Portal tomorrow night.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. A lovely, quick, relaxing overnighter at the cabin with Drew.
2. Happy voices in my house.
3. There's still lots of time left in this month for me to clean out the bottom cabinets in my kitchen, re-organize the pantry, and deal with my closet before some other family LIVES IN MY HOUSE.

Shalom,
