Already? It's Over?

Did I waste it?
Did I get anything done?

Sunday nights have got to be the worst time of the week... All that reflection on how the weekend went. And all that anticipation of the things that are looming ahead.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. A fun afternoon canning peaches with friends:

2. Walking into church on Saturday night with Drew to the sounds of How Great Thou Art.
And hearing a message on how much God loves. How much God loves us. How much God loves me.

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, not any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God..."

God will move mountains, go to the ends of the earth, use anything and anyone to tell you that He loves you.
Want an example?
Read this. (Go on. It'll only take 3 minutes. It's a great story of how desperately God wants you to know how important you are to him.)

Did you read it?
Can we talk?
Two things struck me.
a) WOW. If God is pursuing that girl in the airport, He must also be pursuing those that I love and have been praying for. So that gave me peace. God is in the business of wooing us into a relationship with him. And He doesn't get discouraged and fed up or tired of doing it.
b) WOW. What happened if Brin hadn't listened to that voice telling her to go talk to Irena? How did Brin even hear God's prompting? How scary was it for her to listen and obey? Is God telling me to say something to someone? Is he telling you? Are we open to the possibility that God is asking us to talk to strangers?

3. I'm thankful for a spontaneous, unexpected late night pizza snack with Mandi and Clint on Saturday night. I miss having all my kids living at home, so if I can see them once at week at midnight at Boston Pizza, I'll take it.

Shalom,
