And it feels like I could put on my shorts and flip flops and tan in the backyard.
But it's Sept 30, you know?
And it has rained more this month than it should have. (There are some stats somewhere that support this statement but I can't be bothered to search for them. A researcher I am not.) If Someone had informed me in advance of the upcoming string of good-weather days He was planning for this week, I, myself, wouldn't have coordinated so many indoor-day activities.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Last night. I'm thankful for friends who stretch out on one couch while I stretch out on the other, to watch Emma (BBC Production with Kate Beckinsale) on DVD. Then stay til midnight to talk about life.
2. Tonight. I'm thankful for friends who keep in touch with quarterly dinners out/movie nights where the messiness of life is shared and sometimes cried over.
3. Tomorrow. I'm thankful for friends who like to plan walks on the beach everytime good weather is anticipated.
Yeah. If you're keeping track, I've cooked dinner 4 times in the month of September. Maybe this empty nest thing IS doable.
Shalom,
