Hot Dogs for Supper ...

... while reading the latest People Magazine in my backyard on the lawn.

Now that I'm seriously thinking of selling, I realize seriously love this house. And yard.

I've started biting my fingernails again.
What's with that?

Two execs at work were talking (to each other) earlier in the day, trying to guess how the rest of the office had voted in the HST thingy. At noon, one of them shared their thoughts while we were eating lunch. He started with me. They determined I probably misplaced the envelope or it got lost in an unopened mail pile.

Blink.

Blink.

It's very scary to have your bosses know you that well. I mean, uh. It was EXACTLY what he said. I did misplace it. In my drawer of unopened mail. That I'm always meaning to deal with.

I DID eventually get it mailed in. Right at midnight on the deadline date. Not the first deadline date, but the one for people who needed an extension.

Incredibly, all their other guesses were completely accurate as well.

Does your boss know his team as well as mine knows his?

Of course it helps that mine has alot of clues. (Like, hello? This blog.)

Speaking of work, at prayer time this week, we talked about change. We were to share the first thoughts that come to mind when we hear the word "change"...
Here's what was shared:

 - change = opportunities
 - change = change your clothes
 - change = loose coins
 - change = transition
 - change = many options
 - change = challenge

What word/phrase comes to mind when you hear the word CHANGE?

Somehow the conversation made its way around to change = stress and from there we looked up a few Bible verses:

Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you.

"My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness."

Three things I'm thankful for:

1. Drew and Brett and John are here. Eating pizza and freezies and watching Season 1 of Dexter.
2. Warm summer evenings.
3.  My job.

Shalom,
