Summer? Is that you?

It didn't rain today.
I'm so confused. Is it really summer?
~~~~~~~~~~~
This morning my mom, Jule and I were invited to sit in on a Care Conference for my dad. We sat in the conference room - around a huge table; there were 15 of us. Doctor, RN, care aid, Pharmacist, clergy, recreational therapist, dietician, etc.
Everyone contributed to the list of concerns/medical needs that my dad has which were being recorded on the white board at the front of the room:
1. Difficulty adjusting to new living arrangements.
2. Aphasia/Choking.
3. Agitation/Cognition.
4. Depression.
5. Edema/Swollen legs and feet.
6. Chest pain.
7. Mobility issues.
8. Pace Maker.
9. Parkinson's.
10. Inability to communicate.
11. Diet.
12. Laboured breathing.
13. Incontinence.
Then they talked about his 'labs' which all came back clear. Other than the list above, he's in excellent health. His blood pressure, cholesterol, blood work are all good.
He's all set. The meds they have him on are doing the trick ... he's going to live forever.
I sat there and cried.
Three FIVE things I'm thankful for:
1. Fun plans (and a showing) lined up for tomorrow.
2. Max and his buddy unexpectedly popped in for pizza this evening. We ate OUTSIDE.
3. Walmart is open til 11. Yay for new flip flops and tank tops.
4. Sermons online. Northview is doing a series on JOY, based on Phillipians. Soooo good.
5. This blog post: 50 Bible Verses to Memorize. Wonder if I could memorize them all? By the end of the summer? Could be easy... I already know at least 2 of them.
