Finished reading books 3 and 4:

A wet winter weekend at Harrison. Perfect for reading. I finished two lite books...both from authors that make me giggle.
And giggle I did. On the floor of the hotel room's walk-in closet with the door closed. The kids were sleeping and I simply had to keep on reading...

In the past, I have roared with laughter to the point of not being able to breathe while reading a Janet Evanovich novel. This one didn't have that effect on me. Maybe because of my situation (sitting on the floor of a walk in closet with the door closed and my kids sleeping just on the other side) or maybe I'm getting used to Stephanie's outrageous family and they don't shock me like they used to. Whatever the reason, my pants did not get peed in because of uncontrollable mirth. But it was a fine tale, regardless. And phew, that Ranger guy. He's some hot piece of work, eh? I'm not able to get a visual on him though. The only Cuban I know is Ricky Ricardo, and jeesh, somehow, he doesn't seem like the Sexy Underwearless Bounty Hunter type.

Back Spin was written in 1997. Harlan Coben has gotten much better since then. Tell No One, a more recent novel, is excellent. Back Spin's story line centres around golf. Gag. Lots of twists though. And a surprise ending that well, surprised me. Which is good in a mystery. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. A most relaxing, totally enjoyable weekend away.
2. The rain stopped. I saw blue sky. And had to squint on the drive home because the sun was glaring. Oh happy day.
3. California Rolls. Yummers.
