Celebration of Light

Twasn't worth the effort.

It's an annual summer tradition that I take a truck full of kids to watch the fireworks on one of the four nights. "My" spot is at Kits Beach.
This year we tried English Bay.

Will NOT do that again. There must've been half a million people there. Mostly not fair skinned blondes. Mostly not English speaking. Mostly using cell phones.

I left the house at 5 pm, and just got back home now. (2 am) NINE hours of travel time to watch a 25 minute pirotechnic show.

Yawn.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Despite my whining, I am thankful I got to spend the evening with my kids.
2. After riding the sky train with an assortment of wasted/drunk/stoned teens, I'm so thankful "mine" were just goofy.
3. My boys have great friends.

G'nite
