In your eyes I see that perfect world
I hope that doesn't sound too weird
And I want all the world to know
That your love's all I need
All that I need
And if we're lost
Then we are lost together
Yea if we're lost
Then we are lost together"
My favorite Blue Rodeo song...
The concert was good. Not as phenominal as Creation (the ultimate concert experience) or as moving as Mercy Me (come on - Word of God Speak, I Can Only Imagine... pshwah) but it was a wonderfully relaxing (once I navigated my way through downtown Vancouver's Friday afternoon rush hour traffic) couple of hours spent with my niece.
In case anyone is wondering about the concert series at Malkin Bowl - they seem like good "dating" events. At first I thought the 40-something-year-old couple beside me were married, because well, they were 40-ish and cuddly. But as the evening wore on, they were too affectionate to be married, if you know what I mean. I finally looked at their hands and it all made sense. His attentiveness, her clothing...they were dating. Kinda pukey to watch. This, and a whole lot of pot smoking was taking place all around us.
I spent alot of time shoe watching. I've become opinionated on footwear. Females - your long toes should not fall over the front of your shoe. And 4" high heels? On a grassy hillside? I'm sure he'll find your legs just as sexy in something less dangerous to walk in. Men - socks, of any colour, thickness, and length do not work with the sort of flip flops that have a divider for your big toe. You look retarded. No really, you do.
If you've got nothing to do tonight, they're playing again. I'd recommend going, but (shhhh, don't tell anyone) don't buy a ticket. Sit on the grass on the other side of the makeshift, collapsable 4 foot high, cage-like fencing and enjoy music like this for free:
"I never meant to make you cry
And I know I shouldn't call
It just reminds us of the cost
Of everything we've lost
Bad timing that's all
Maybe soon there'll come a day
When no more tears will fall
If we each forgive a little bit
And we both look back on it
Just bad timing that's all"
