Praying for Chad R.

On Halloween night he had an accident with some fireworks and lost one and a half fingers along with his thumb. They've reattached the thumb and we are praying that it "takes".

Chad was from Murrayville Church and was part of the crowd that Drew hung around with in those days.

Can I tell you how sick this makes me feel? THIS is exactly why I was a mess on Halloween night. THIS is what I am afraid will happen. THIS is what I pray never happens again. THIS is something that parents-of-girls don't "get"... this fear of their sons doing dangerous things.

H & T? Praying for you and Chad. Praying that his thumb will "stick" and not get infected.

Sigh.

It really was easier when they were teething babies keeping us up all night crying. In those days it was just physical exhaustion.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. My dad and mom. No one listens to a ranting PMSing woman quite like a person's parents. (And after I'd unloaded by talking non-stop for an hour or so, my dad says, "Are you ever going to get married again?)
2. Friends that like to play scrabble on facebook.
3. I am so thankful that Chad's accident wasn't worse.

Shalom,
