I so badly wanted this to be awesome.
It's about a 70 year old retired single independent woman who sits on her chair in the front room of her house doing crossword puzzles. She notices first one young mom, then another, both single, walking their babies through the neighbourhood - never together. She thought they should all get to know each other, so asked each of them if they'd like to stop by her place on Friday night for a visit.
.
From there, their weekly "Friday Night" group grew as a co-worker, another neighbour, and a sister were added.
.
And in the end, a story with that kind of potential - just, well, sort of was OK.
.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Drew's enthusiasm for Creationfest. I hope it's contagious because I'm feeling low on energy today, and I totally had forgetten how much work it is to empty one's house and put it in a motorhome. (bedding, food, things to prepare food, things to eat food on, things to clean up after eating food, stuff for concert site, things for campsite, things for river site, things to keep me looking decent, things to keep us cool, things to play with in case we get bored, things to have on hand in case of emergency, camera and all related gadgets, things to ...)
.
2. Max. He's letting me use his laptop for a few hours to download my Alaska pics.
.
3. Clint. He's going to help me sort out my electronic needs when he gets home from South America. I have a feeling a laptop will not be in my future. A three year life expectancy just doesn't seem like a good investment. But, oh how I loved having it for those three years.
.
Shalom,
