- it was disappointing.
I completed two marathon reading sessions, finishing the new Francine Rivers book, Her Mother's Hope, this afternoon.
Sadly, it didn't do it for me. A long, wandering story with uber strong characters, but something just didn't click with me. It had more to do with the author's style than with the actual story. The letter writing seemed gimmicky and the recap chapters at the end were totally unnecessary. The Mark of the Lion series is still her best work in my opinion - and this doesn't even come close.
Feel free to disagree with me. My feelings won't be hurt. I didn't much care for The Shack either.
