Pray-Along. Part Nine

(If you're just joining me now, I'm in the midst of a day-long intentional time of prayer. Please join me. I'm praying for my kids, and all those kids that God has laid on my heart to love.)

From Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado and How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin:

When a friend told Jesus of the illness of Lazarus, he said, "Lord the one you love is sick." He doesn't base his appeal on the imperfect love of the one in need, but on the perfect love of the Saviour. He doesn't say, "The one who loves you is sick." He says, The one You love is sick." The power of prayer, in other words, does not depend on the one who makes the prayer, but one the One who hears the prayer.

We must and can repeat the phrase in manifold ways, "The one you love is tired, sad, hungry, fearful, depressed." The words of the prayer vary, but the response never changes. The Savior hears the prayer. He silences heaven so He won't miss a word. He hears the prayer. (Psalm 34:17 - The Lord hears His people when they cry out to Him, and He saves them from all their troubles.)

Jesus is praying for us ... Jesus has spoken and Satan has listened. The devil may land a punch or two. He may even win a few rounds, but he never wins the fight. Why? Because Jesus takes up for you ... "He is able always to save those who come to God through Him because He always lives, asking God to help them." (Hebrews 7:25)

Jesus, at this very moment, is protecting you ... Evil must pass through Christ before it can touch you. And God will never let you be pushed past your limit; He'll always be there to help you come through it. (I Cor 10:13)

The splendor of a King,
clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
and darkness tries to hide
it trembles at his voice,
trembles at his voice

How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great
How great is our God

And age to age He stands
and time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End
The Godhead, three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
the Lion and the Lamb,
the Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
how great is our God

Dear God,

The children you love need you today, this very hour. Pour out Your love on them, right now. Flood them with Your presence, so that regardless of where they are and what they're doing, they will KNOW with full certainty that YOU LOVE THEM.

Amen
