Happy Easter

Being a Saturday evening service attender, I got a jump start on the whole Easter Sunday bit, celebrating with about 1000 Abbotsfordians plus whoever lives 12 time zones ahead of us. The Greeks? The Kazahhistanions? The Cambodites?

I love Easter services. I love the joy. The songs. (Although it's been years since I've sung "Up From The Grave He Arose" or "He Lives". If you're over 40, you've probably got those songs playing in your head now.) We did sing, though, a rocking version of, "Crown Him with Many Crowns" which made me smile.

Know what part about Easter I love the best? The fact that it actually happened. It was an event (the death and resurrection of Jesus) that can be verified by historians. Believe what you want about God and religion, but know this. Jesus died. And rose again. For you. (And me.)

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Turkey
2. and Purdy's chocolate at my dad and mom's place this afternoon.
3. Sun is shining. Birds are singing. It's Spring.
