The Gardeners Woke Me Up This Morning at 10.

Which? Was only totally awesome.

We (Sandra, Rose and I) went to Walmart. To buy groceries. It took HOURS. I'm sure we (and by "we", I mostly mean "they") spent half an hour just in front of the tuna shelves. We bought $50 worth of groceries (mostly fruit and vegies. And NO JUNK FOOD. Because I'm vacationing with people who only put good, healthy things into their bodies) and it took flippin forever.

I could not get out of that store fast enough. Excuse me? It's sunny outside. Why are we choosing to weigh the pros and cons of toothpaste tubes? UNDER FLORESCENT LIGHTS? When we could be undressed beside a pool?

We got back home at 2:30pm. I made a sandwich in 10 seconds, ate it on the patio, got into my bathing suit and was reading in the sunshine by 2:40. It. Was. Glorious.

At one point, Sandra, Wayne and I were all sitting in a row, in the veriest back sunny corner of their yard, each on a lawn chair, each with our feet up, each facing the sun, each reading a book. No one saying a word. And it was good. Better than good.

We went downtown tonight to watch the sun set over the ocean.

The promenade/sea walk area is delightful.

There's a party atmosphere in the air. LOTS of happy people milling about. So fun.

I remembered these spinning guys from the last time:

That's them, sitting on top of the pole:

They fling themselves off the platform, backwards, while spinning, with just one leg wrapped around the rope.

We wandered and talked and stopped and just plain ol' enjoyed being outside in February.

Wayne and Rose: (note the layers of clothes and the long pants.) I wore a tank top and skirt with flip flops.

After we ate, outside, because we could, we continued our stroll.
THIS is the life.

I love how the restaurants light up the beach. I love how warm it is. I love how safe I feel. I love the people I get to hang out with this week.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Drew (and his other family) (smile) made it to Hawaii after a delayed flight. Clint will be flying out tomorrow to join them. SO thankful for facebook.

2. So thankful that Wayne is OK having us invade his home for 9 days. And so thankful he doesn't mind driving us around. Feeling spoiled and loving it.

3. So thankful for sunshine, palm trees, good food, an exceptional bed, privacy when I need it, great company when I don't, books to read, and a God who listens to prayer. I am feeling blessed.

Shalom,
