Leaving...

Who planned this trip anyway? What kind of moron chooses a 5 am departure time flight? FROM BELLINGHAM?

Oh.

That was me. And Sandra.

I'm going to be picked up in a few hours, we'll catch a 5 am flight from Bellingham, then a 6 am flight from Seattle, then gather at the Port of San Diego at noon for check in.

Sixteen of us are going.
From San Diego to Vancouver - on a super cheap repositioning cruise...
There will be much talking, laughing, eating, playing and dancing. And on that first night, I'm going to guess there will be a fair bit of sleeping. Most of us are getting less than 3 hours of sleep tonight. I will be getting less, because I've just started packing. And cleaning. My niece is staying here to be Drew's cook and driver, so bedding needed to be washed, bathrooms needed to be sanitized, dead things needed to be removed from the fridge, garage needed to be organized. You know. Just me being spastic.

It's only a 4 night cruise. But rather than planning my wardrobe I simply washed everything I own and packed everything that fits me. I'm bringing my closet. And it fits in a medium sized suitcase.

While I'm off on my safe little getaway, Clint will be off on an Adventure. He's heading to Israel. And hoping to get into Jordan and Egypt while he's over there. He's looking for life/death situations because he's dumb. Proverbs is right when it says it's hard being the parent of a foolish child. Oy vey. Just once. ONCE I plead, do the safe thing. Everything doesn't have to be an "experience".

Three things I'm thankful for:

1. Osama is dead. Not sure how this affects me, but I'm glad the hunt is over. I'm tending to agree with MLK Jr: ‎"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

2. The election is over. The guy I voted for got in. Yay.

3. Don't read this if you're of the boy gender.
I'm warning you.

I have a bladder infection. And yes, I am uncomfortable. And yes, I'd rather just stay home and lie on the couch. But there are some super meds available and (shudddder) Oil of Oregano to speed up the healing process and I am SO thankful that in 48 hours (day 3 of the cruise) I will feel fabulouso.

Shalom,

And I hope with that bladder infection you got some antibiotics. Does the trick in no time. Have a blast my dear friend. I wish I was with you to give you my birthday wishes in person. Oh well, I'll see you in June. :o)
