Year of the Dragon

The kids and I celebrated the Chinese New Year this evening by having Chinese food together. When I sent out the email invite, Clint responded, "just any excuse now eh ahhahaha"

He knows me well. I will find any and every reason for us to get into our cars and drive somewhere to share an hour of time. All the grumbling and sarcasm that I put up with beforehand is usually worth it, as they all seem to bring a decent attitude to the table.

We are all living such diverse lives right now - Clint in the basement suite of an old house on Commercial in Vancouver, Max in a penthouse in New West, Drew and me in suburbia on a big lot in Langley. Clint is self-employed, Max is looking for work, Drew is happily unemployed and I'm still working parttime. Everyone is going their own way, and I feel like I've got to pull us all together to remind everyone we are a family.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Clint, Max, and Drew.
2. Slow weekends.
3. It didn't get dark til 5:30 pm.

Shalom,
