A slow day.
Just another twenty four hour period of waiting for things to happen.
Wondering if I am destined to be a corrugating paper machine operator?
Or be the Keyholder at a Dollarama store?
I just realized that my feet are cold. I haven't worn socks or had the heat on in this house since May.
I have a showing tomorrow. Things need to be cleaned. Did you know that even if you don't use a room it gets filthy? Dust bunnies and long legged spiders move in and take over. Shudder. I use 3 rooms in this house? Wildlife has taken over the rest. Cobwebs have been forming ON THE PILLOWS ON THE COUCHES IN THE FAMILY ROOM. I know. I know.
Saw my dad for a few hours today.
He is withdrawing into himself. No eye contact. He just seems so very sad.
I got there late, after 5:30, and Rubi, his care aide, said to him, "See Pete, your daughter DID come, just like she said she would." Then she looked at me and said, "He's been waiting for you for hours. When you didn't arrive at suppertime, he was very sad."
He's still not eating anything.
In case you're not on facebook, Kevin Heppell's funeral is at 2 pm on Friday Oct 5 at Immanuel Fellowship Baptist Church in Abbotsford.
This is silly.
Clearly I did nothing blog-worthy today.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Thanksgiving weekend.
2. Care aids who care.
3. Communities that come together when someone's hurting.
