I'm staying at my mom's place tonight because we have to be at the Kinsmen Lodge by 6:30 am on Thursday so that mom can accompany dad to the Royal Columbian Hospital by ambulance. He's getting the batteries in his pace maker changed. Supposed to be No Big Deal - just a 5 hour appointment. But, well, nothing is No Big Deal with my dad. So if you have a sec to say a wee prayer, that'd be nice.
His heart stopped working completely sometime during this past year, so that pacemaker is doing 100% of the work. (For years, his heart was doing between 20 - 30% of the pumping. I guess that changed after his stroke.) So it's pretty important that those batteries get swapped out for new ones.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Technology.
2. Smart people.
3. FOTF who were totally OK about me taking the day off, and promised to pray for my dad during devos.
