Oh my goodness, how did it come to pass that they (Drew and Danica) are old enough to have friends from high school getting married?
And my boy?
Is growing up.
First time he's worn pants that fit. And they are positioned correctly on his body.
And? He's not wearing runners.
The kids moves out a year ago, and I miss out on all the fun of watching him become a young man.
Thank you, God, for Facebook.
Three other things I'm thankful for:
1. I have a new Starbucks. One of my friends from this neighbourhood said, "let's meet at our Starbucks for a coffee tonight" and I'm like, "whoa. We have a Starbucks?" And turns out, yes we do. Right close by. Next to the pharmacy, actually... my new pharmacy where they will keep a life time supply of bumble-bee antibiotics for me for just before I go on vacations.
Am I making Fraser Heights my home?
I'm doing this again?
Feels a little bit like deja vu. I've done this before. 2000 - 2002; The Wilderness Wandering Years.
Anybody got a better idea?
2. I'm going to Puerto Vallarta on Saturday. (Pretend I added about a gazillion exclamation marks after that statement.) Thankful for friends who have vacation homes in sunny locations who toss out invites, unexpectedly. Thankful that I had enough airmiles to cover the cost of travel. Thankful for my boss who said I could take the time off. Thankful. Just plain thankful.
3. Also, lastly? I'm thankful for warm evenings. Where one can sit outside, in the dark, in a t-shirt and talk about options and opportunities and life with a kindred spirit.
