Fri Nite Adventure

It all started at 5:30 pm.

I couldn't find my keys.

Turned out I had locked them in my truck.

So Sandra picked me up and drove me home. At 6:20 pm, we were still deciding what to do ...

We ended up driving over to Deep Cove, (which is 35 minutes from Surrey; unbelievably I've never been there before) so that we could hike up to Quarry Rock. (Thanks, Charlene for inspiring us.)

Another walk, another map:

The forest floor was a maze of exposed roots. Unlike terrain I've seen anywhere else...

LOTS of stairs on this trail.

After 50 minutes of this. I was ready to call it quits. Seriously. SO. Many. Steps.

And then we passed some young guys who encouraged us. "Only a few more minutes. And it's totally worth it. You've got to keep going..."

They were right:

Three things I'm thankful for:

1. After a tough week, this was a perfect way to spend Friday night. Feeling so very fortunate to live in an area with so much eye candy. Thankful that I can enjoy it. Thankful that I have friends who like to share the experience. Thankful that I have a BCAA membership and by midnight I was driving my truck again.

2. I'm thankful for inspiring books. You know the type ... the ones that make you think. The ones that make you ask questions.

3. And I'm thankful for friends who pray.

Shalom,
xo
