44 Odd Things About Me

1. Do you like blue cheese? Not yet. However, I am confident, based on my history, that eventually I will love it and All The Foods. Except cilantro and coconut.

2. Have you ever smoked? No. I have virgin lungs.

3. Do you own a gun? Pffft. Of course not. I'm a Canadian.

4. What is your favorite flavor? Rich milk chocolate. Followed closely by mango/orange/raspberry/watermelon...

5. Do you get nervous before Doctor visits? Every. Single. Time.

6. What do you think of hot dogs? The hotdog, in my opinion, is really all about the bun. It must be fresh. And white. And soft. The weiner? Can be pork or beef or whatever. Could be boiled or fried or grilled. Doesn't matter. As long as the bun is a Safeway-Just-Been-Baked bun? I'll have two for lunch, thanks. And two again for dinner, please. And repeat again the following day. And then the buns are too old. I should probably mention I eat them without condiments. I was the only student in Cape Horn Elementary School who would order plain Hotdogs on Hotdog Day, which got me the rep/nickname "Plain Jane".

7. Favourite Movie? I don't have one. I figure if I have to sit and think about it for 15 minutes and can't come up with a real FAVORITE, then I should leave this question unanswered. I love many. For a variety of reasons. Story. Setting. Dialogue. Feelings. Memories. Actor.

8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? Water

9. Do you do push ups? WHAT? No. Does it look like I do? Are you saying I should? Such a loaded question...

10. What’s your favorite piece of jewelry? This ring. (I never wear it anymore. But I have it in a place where I see it every day and am reminded of how much He loves me.)

11. Favorite Hobby? Walking. Talking. Taking random photos. Catching Pokemon. Reading. Watching movies. Blogging. Making photo books. 

12. Do you have A.D.D.? No. Although the older I get, the more scattered I become. 

...so that when I come up to the lake late at night, there's a light to greet me. 

13. What’s the one thing you dislike about yourself? My lack of self-discipline. In matters relating to thoughts, habits, food intake, prioritizing time and monetary expenditures, exersize, and saying words. I should do less/be more controlled in all matters. 

14. What is your middle name? Marlene (My first one word answer.)

15. Name three thoughts at this moment. I am thinking about all the things I dislike about myself. I am loving every memory attached to the photos I'm posting. I am thinking about how old I am.

16. Name 3 drinks you regularly drink? Water. Earl Grey Tea for social reasons. Cream Soda on hot days at the lake. But almost always only water. I prefer to eat my calories.

17. Current worry? My plan had been to buy a house this summer. So my worry, now after 6 months of market chaos, will I be able to afford one? And the worry that is my constant companion? Will everyone I love choose to spend eternity in heaven?

18. Current annoyance right now? My laptop is still not working properly and I'll have to surrender it to a new computer repair place and hope they can fix it.

19. Favorite place to be? At the lake. Happy to be there by myself. Happier to have someone with me.

20. How do you ring in the new year? Wow. This is going to sound SO pathetic. Haha. I'm usually by myself at the lake. Either reading or watching a movie. And talking to God. (Don't feel sorry for me - I'm at my favorite place, doing my favorite things.)


21. Where would you like to go? Marj's answer was Mediterranean Cruise, which is a darn good answer. That is definitely on my wish list. So is Ireland, Portugal, Prague, and any place where a friend is going on a business trip.

23. Do you own slippers? Yes, I loved them with my whole heart when I got my very first pair about 4 years ago. I haven't worn them in a long time. Probs need to get a new pair? What's the life expectancy of slipppers? Is 4 years a good run? Or am I being fickle?

24. What color shirt are you wearing right now? Tan. (Wow. THAT was a boring question.)

25. Do you like sleeping on satin sheets? Heck no. (Well, to be honest, I never have. But I imagine I'd hate it.)

26. Can you whistle? Yes, but only that puckered lips quiet annoying type of whistle. I want to be able to do the cheering loud listen-to-me whistle suitable for sporting events.

27. What are your favorite colors? Blue-green/Turquoise/GreenyBlue I rarely wear these colours, and I've never decorated with them. But these are the colours that make me happy. Especially when associated with an ocean.

28. Would you be a pirate? Arrrrr matey. I don't know how to swim, so no.

29. What songs do you sing in the shower? I cannot carry a tune. So I rarely sing unless there's a congregation, a crowd or a speaker system that will drown me out. None of whom are typically in the shower with me.

32. What’s in your pocket right now? None of my pants have pockets. (I don't need the added bulk...)

33. Last thing that made you laugh? Telling Marj's funny story to Drew (again) and Danica.

34. Best toy as a child? I have no memory of special toys, just special books...

35. Worst injury you ever had.  Hmmmm. I don't think I've injured myself. Not very accident prone, I guess. No broken bones, no gashes requiring stitches. No head bonks. Haha. If you're favorite activies are reading and walking, I guess there's a good chance your body is safe.

36. Where would you love to live? Well isn't this just the million dollar question these days...In my fantasy world, I'd love to live next to the ocean. With all my kids living close by. In my real world? I'd love to live on a wide street, with a southern facing private backyard, with a bright basement suite, near the freeway, in Langley.

37. How many TV’s do you have? Two. One in Surrey. And one at Cultus. Neither get watched more than 2 - 3 hours a month.

40. Does someone trust you? Yes, I think so.

41. What book are you reading at the moment? Wool by Hugh Howey

42. What’s your favorite candy? Blue SweetTarts, Lovehearts and Rockets.

43. What’s your favorite sports team? Canucks and the Canadian Olympic team.




44. Favorite month? June, because there's nothing but summer ahead.
