In Labor
1. Labor Day weekend traditionally marks the end of summer. What will you miss most about summer?

Where do I begin? The not having to worry about bag lunches, healthy or otherwise.
The long, lazy summer evenings.
The three-day-work weeks.
The flip flops.
The denim shorts.
The watermelon.
The warm color of my skin.
The no-fighting-about homework.
The hassle-free mornings where "hurrry, they're waiting" is not uttered.
Truly, the list is endless...I will miss every little thing about summer.

2. What are you most looking forward to this fall?
The colours. The way the lake, the sky, the mountains, everything changes colours. Love that.

3. What are your plans for Labor Day weekend?
To suck as much fun out of 72 hours as is humanly possible. Richmond Night Market tonight. Shopping downtown Vancouver with my boys on Saturday.
The lake or beach on Sunday. Maybe the PNE?
Some purely touristy thing on Monday?

4. Labor Unions were the driving force behind the creation of Labor Day. How else have they impacted your life?
I put myself through school (BCIT) working at a union job for almost three years - answering phones in the circulation (complaint) department at the Vancouver Sun. Have not been part of a union since.

5. Natural labor or fully medicated labor?
Three fully medicated (epidural) c-sections. There are not enough drugs for that kind of pain.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Awesome evening.
2. Long weekends.
3. Shaved Mango Ice

Shalom,
