Is pretty.
I zipped over to Crescent Beach at 3:30 to watch the sunset, but by the time I arrived, it was already down. Sad for me. Many, many people didn't miss it though. The promenade was packed.
It was like a party. A sunset party. Sort of like the fireworks crowd, but somewhat more subdued.
Today is Jan 2, so in keeping with my goal to read a book in Proverbs everyday this month, today I glanced at studied Proverbs 2.
Verses that got underlined with my yellow pencil crayon?
Tune your ears to wisdom and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight and understanding.
He grants a treasure of good sense to the godly. He is their shield, protecting those who walk with integrity. He guards the paths of justice and protects those who are faithful to him.
Wise planning will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.
There was a spectacular sunset on Saturday night. It was ridiculous. I was spellbound with the glimpses I caught of it out of my kids' bedrooms in Langley.
It was the clouds. They reflected the glowing red sky against the dark blue and it was unbelievable.
Tonight's sunset?
Pretty, but not mind-numbing.
Know why?
Nary a cloud in the sky.
Know what today's reading from my new devotional said?
"Without the clouds we wouldn't be shielded from the burning sun. Without the clouds there would be no lavish sunsets, no beneficial rain, no beautiful landscapes..."
Ha.
Love it when I read something totally suited for the day I read it.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Kids are all back in the lower mainland, safe and sound after a week of boarding in Sun Peaks.
2. My least favorite period of the year is over and it was fine. Better than fine, actually. It was awesome.
3. Thankful for my country, my town, my neighbourhood.
Shalom,
