Getting an "F"

Oh my goodness.
It's going to happen.

For the first time in like, forever, I will not be (even a little bit) prepared for something.

I have not read Wuthering Heights.
We will be discussing it this Wednesday at my house and I DON'T KNOW WHO HEATHCLIFF IS.

I hate reading book club books months before we discuss them because some of the details get fuzzy in my mind. I'm over 50 you know.

So I purposefully left it til the week before we were to meet. And time has just slipped away. Well, that, and no one who has read it is very positive about it.

So here we are. If I could've read for 4 hours on each on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, I woulda bin 'golden'. But alas, life got in the way. And so did facebook's Wheel of Fortune. And pinterest. And the Emmy's. And dinner with my folks and kids. And then tonight there was this last-minute-drop-in from Clint, looking for meals. (So I made him a batch of stew and a pot of ham and vegetable soup.)

And I'm just going to stop beating myself up.
It's 1:00 am on Monday Tuesday and all I've read are the first three chapters and the on-line summary in Wikipedia ... Seems like alot of unhappy people dying too early. Maybe I'll read the last three chapters tomorrow and then I'll be able to fake my way through the discussion.

Three things I'm thankful for:
1. I got a walk in this evening. Perfect night for a stroll.
2. Honored to be able to pray for Nigeria today.
3. Grace.

Shalom,
