Me.
I was employee of the day, today.
Know what that means?
That this morning, during staff devo's it is announced that I am the EOTD, and everyone goes, "Yaaaaayyyyyy Jane." Which made me blush.
And then someone reads some nice words that a co-worker has said about me. Made my blush even redder.
And then they read off some prayer requests that I had forwarded weeks ago. I was being a little bit cheeky when I wrote them, so when they started reading them out loud my blush almost became a stroke.
No one jokes about prayer requests.
But it was OK.
And it was Such A Good Day. For many reasons (the 290,000 'lost somewhere in transit' magazines showed up today, a whole bunch of small projects got finished,) but mostly because a friend texted me at 3:00 and asked if I wanted to go to the Canuck's game with her tonight. And yes I so did. So she picked me up from work, we drove into Vancouver, detouring first for a quick visit to the Vancouver Public Library (and seriously? I need to hang out in libraries more. They are awesome.), then walked over to the game, in the rain, both of us struggling with broken umbrellas. (Hers had no handle, mine kept folding in half because of the wind.)
The seats were incredible, our fan-mates were not boring, AND WE WON.
I can hardly wait til I'm employee of the day again.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Laughter
2. Prayer
3. Kind words
Shalom,
