Winter.

It snowed all day today.

If you're reading this from somewhere that is not here, know that we have just had 3 straight days of falling snow.

And it has been accumulating.

To fully embrace the winter experience, Danica and I met for dinner after work then went to see Winter's Tale:

It's received terrible reviews but we both were willing to give it a chance. Her, because she was in the mood for a fairy tale/fantasy romance. And me because I liked the actors.

We were both satisfied.

I loved the premise that there are miracles happening around us all the time. And sometimes we're lucky enough to see them. Also, kind of along with that theme is the concept that our actions ripple through time. So tomorrow's (or next year's) miracle might be the result of something someone did 100 years ago. We were all created specifically for a purpose, and we are all connected. We don't know what the whole story is, we only see the part of it that we're in - but there's a big story going on, and we're all bit-players in the grand scheme of things.

From the book:

"Nothing is predetermined, it is determined, or was determined, or will be determined. No matter, it all happened at once, in less than an instant, and time was invented because we cannot comprehend in one glance the enormous and detailed canvas that we have been given - so we track it, in linear fashion piece by piece. Time however can be easily overcome ... by standing back far enough to see it all at once.

The universe is still and complete. Everything that ever was, is. Everything that ever will be, is. In all possible combinations. Though we imagine that it is in motion and unfinished, it is quite finished and quite astonishingly beautiful. So any event is intimately and sensibly tied to all others."

So good,  I'm repeating it: Everything that ever was, is. Everything that ever will be, is. In all possible combinations. Though we imagine that it is in motion and unfinished, it is quite finished and quite astonishingly beautiful. So any event is intimately and sensibly tied to all others.

Three things I'm thankful for:

1. The snow had stopped falling by the time we left the theatre.
2. I'm thankful that Drew picked an amazing young woman to be his girlfriend.
3. Brenda seemed to have a good day today. Thanks, everyone, for praying.
