While walking with a friend last week, we talked about a recent seminar she'd attended. At one point the speaker said, "There is room for 8 people to stand around a hospital bed. When you've reached the end of your life, which 8 people do you want to be at your side? Invest now in those relationships."
Interesting to think about? (Unless you're married and have 3-4 married kids. Then there's nothing to ponder, I guess.)
And there's the flip side to that, I guess... do those 8 even want to be there? Bedside vigils are hard.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. Bright, vivid, green leaves unfurling on branches.
2. Frogs croakin
3. Pajama shorts.
