In case you're wondering, yes, it was warm (16 degrees) even tho the sun's rays were filtered by that foggy mist. I thought a sun dress would be comfortable, but my personal summer is still burning strong.
We left the beach and flung ourselves onto the couches and beds in our barn.
At around 7 pm, Clint, who'd been out for a solo walk, sent us a pic with BLUE SKY...
So we went back to the beach to see for ourselves:
And yessiree, indeedy do, there were WAVES. And people. And blue skies. And land masses off in the distance. And SO MUCH sand.
Just before midnight, someone (Max?) mentioned that there was a super moon, so we all scampered back to the beach to have a look.
Oh
My
Goodness
!!!
It was spectacular.
We (and many others) just stood on the beach and stared.
It was like having a flood light in the sky.
Do you see the fire on the beach behind Dani? There were about a dozen fires stretched along our mile of beach. It looked so, so, uh, so something appealing. We decided we're going to have a fire on the beach on Friday night.
And then we watched Luca (Pixar animated movie) before calling it a day.
My heart is full.
It was absolutely a perfect day.
Three things I'm thankful for:
1. That it worked for all of us to get away this weekend.
2. That temperatures are supposed to be in the mid 40 degree range this weekend, and we are HERE, on the ocean, where it will get up to 25 degrees. Feels like we are in The Best Place on Earth right now.
3. That these kids are mine.
