Randomness

The trouble with smoothies is you can't decide to have just one; you need to have the ingredients. And if, say, you're buying fresh kale and/or spinach - you have to COMMIT to having more than one. Regardless if you liked that first one or not.

And if you buy the ingredients, you need to make sure you have room for all those things in the fridge you share with your mom.

So this is why I haven't had/made one yet.

Pro Tip on the Shingles Shot (Shingrix)

  • Your arm is going to hurt and be dead to you for a couple days.
  • Even though only 1 in 6 people get all the side effects of the vaccination; be prepared. You (like I) could be one of the lucky ones. (Headache, body ache, sore eyes, nausea, sweats and shivers.) It's been a rough 24 hours.
  • If you're not sure that the vaccination's side effects are worth it, just sit beside someone you care about, like say, your mom, and watch her suffer FOR TWO MONTHS with her second outbreak of Shingles (this was last January...) and you'll definitely pay the price of an uncomfortable weekend.
  • DO NOT MAKE PLANS to do or clean or meet the weekend after your shot or you'll be frustrated. Christmas is still 'up', I didn't get a chance to visit my cousin, and I was unavailable for friends who've texted me all afternoon.

Three Things I'm Thankful For:

1. Fresh baked banana bread. Thanks, Heather (and Nola and Addy) ... It was/is the PERFECT food item when your stomach is feeling dodgy.

2. Tylenol.

3. Max. He's going to meet the furnace guy at the lake. So so grateful.

Rest up, play nice, wash your hands,

xojo
